To Tiger Woods: keep doing what you are doing. don't give the media what they want.
Obama's Afghanistan: Good choice IMO. One of few among very bad choices this year. BTW, looks like he's got a little more gray than when he started. hmmm.

My Conference champ picks along with my BCS predictions.
SEC: Florida. Tim Tebow is just so dominant. Plus Mark Ingram won't be able to run against that Brandon Spikes lead defense. 41-20
Big-12: Nebraska. That Bo Pelini Defense will easily stop Mr. McCoy with Suh leading the way against a mediocre OLine. 24-17
Big East: Cincinnati. Tony Pike should torch this aggressive defense. 41-31
Pac-10: Oregon. oregon st. is a cinderella story that should end hear. they aren't that great. This isn't a real championship but it decides who wins the Pac 10. 24-13
ACC: this is a hard one but im going to have to go with Georgia Tech. That triple option will be too much to handle. however, CJ SPiller will dominate this game. 24-21
Bowl picks:
BCS: Florida over Cincinnati. With the championship sealed up for Cincy, they'll move ahead of TCU and lose to Florida. Cincy isnt that high caliber of a team yet.
Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech over TCU. TCU moves back behind Cincy and gets stuck with the orange bowl
Fiesta Bowl: Nebraska over Boise State. Boise goes undefeated but they had a cupcake sched so they land her with the big-12 champ
Sugar Bowl: Alabama over Texas. With Florida going to the 'ship, the sugar bowl picks Alabama and with TExas losing, they fall down to the sugar bowl
Rose Bowl: Oregon over Ohio State. Orgeon won the Pac-10 and had some great wins, while Ohio State sneakily wins the Big 10.

How does Notre Dame get back to a powerhouse?
Charlie Weis. This man pretty much screwed up this team's success. Before Charlie, they were much better than a 6-loss team. Before Charlie, they had championships. Before Charlie, they could recruit. Before Charlie, Notre Dame was a powerhouse. How does Notre Dame get back to these things? Well, it first starts with a dedicated coach. Charlie Weis was not the coach they needed. What they need in a coach is this: defensive strength, good recruiter, and loyalty. Why defense? Their defense has been terrible. Why good recruiter? Their recruiting classes have not been that strong lately. Why loyalty? To become a powerhouse, you need someone who is going to stay there. So, how do you narrow this list down? Well, let's look at ESPN's recruiting rankings. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/classrankings?&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncf%2frecruiting%2fclassrankings As of today, it goes:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. Georgia
5. Penn State
6. Tennessee
7. LSU
8. Auburn
9. Oklahoma
10. USC
11. Ohio State
12. Texas A&M
13. Miami (FL)
14. South Carolina
15. Stanford
Alright, thats the top 15. So, let's narrow it down to the best defenses.
Based on pt/g defense:
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Penn St.
4. Ohio St.
5. Oklahoma
6. Texas
7. LSU
8. USC
9. South Carolina
10. Tennessee
And let us now eliminate some teams.
eliminated:
1. Penn St. (Joe Pa won't ever leave this school)
2. Florida (Urban Meyer just said he is staying at Florida)
3. Alabama (Nick Saban won't leave that money)
4. USC (I can't see Pete leaving)
5. Tennessee (Kiffin???? is in his first year)
That leaves:
1. Ohio St.
2. Oklahoma
3. Texas
4. LSU
5. South Carolina
I think that an interesting pickup for 'Dame would be Steve Spurrier. He's had a great career. Good recruiting classes. Has had some very good defenses (I know he has an offensive background). Now, a defensive coordinator would be great for Notre Dame, but the problem is that they need to be a powerhouse fast so they need someone with head coaching experience which is why I think that Steve would be a good pickup. Alright, so I talked about the coaching thing. Now, we need to go over the logistics of this.
First, you need to find a scheme that fits your current team very well. I would work on a spread offense givin' that they have some great offensive recruits. Recently, they have been recruiting very good D-linemen. So, that tells me that they need to go for a 4-3 scheme with Manti Te'o anchoring those 3 linebackers. They have had some good linebackers but not as many linemen as they have had. Now, they need to recruit that difference maker in the secondary. They have some good verbal commits at the skill positions (offense) in this year's recruiting class. So, go after a few good linemen and you just amped up your offense even more. Alright. so we got down what they need to do for the recruiting subject. Since they aren't in a conference, they need to start making some smarter scheduling. To start off, play a Division 2 school or a lesser Division 1 school so they don't have that bad start. Then do that for the first 2-3 weeks. Then you need to schedule a team of the Auburn level. Then again go for a lesser team to lead up to an Oklahoma State or something about that level maybe higher. After that game, go for that Auburn level for a few more weeks and then a bye up to a top 10 team.
Also, something I think will be very beneficial is joining a conference. Maybe a Big Ten would improve your chances of success because you get better recruiting, a better shot at a BCS 'ship, and the ability to get a guaranteed BCS bid (assuming they win the conference).
So yeah, that's how they become a powerhouse again. Basically, play a scheme for your strengths, get a defensive head coach, join Big Ten.
